Home Post Production acquires Picture Shop Bristol: photographing the people and place behind the announcement

There are some jobs that feel like a proper “Bristol moment” — great people, a brilliant space, and work that’s rooted in craft. I recently photographed a set of headshots, interior images and PR photography for Picture Shop Bristol, the unscripted and natural history post-production facility in Clifton, as news broke that Home Post Production has acquired Picture Shop Bristol from Streamland Media.

The announcement confirms the Bristol facility will operate under the Home Post Production umbrella from its Grade II listed building in Clifton, with the team retained and the existing senior leadership continuing to lead the Bristol operation.

The brief: headshots, interiors and PR imagery that feels real

The goal with this kind of PR and brand imagery is always the same: make it feel confident, human and true. For headshots, that means flattering light, a clean but natural look, and expressions that feel like the person you’d actually meet in the suite or on a call. For interiors, it’s about space, flow and detail — straight lines, balanced brightness, and images that show the character of the building without over-stylising it.

Because this is a working post-production environment, the photography also needs to reflect professionalism and technical credibility — the kind of place where high-end finishing and audio work happens day in, day out. The Bristol facility’s capabilities include Avid Media Composer, DaVinci Resolve / Avid Symphony online suites, Digital Vision Nucoda grading, and Pro Tools audio (including a Dolby Atmos suite), with finishing suites set up for 4K HDR monitoring.

Why imagery matters for production and post teams

In post, reputation is built on trust and relationships — the work is high-stakes, deadlines are real, and the end result has to stand up on the biggest platforms. That’s why the visuals used in press, social, and trade coverage matter: they set the tone instantly. Strong PR photography helps the story land clearly, supports credibility with clients and partners, and gives the team a set of consistent assets they can reuse across announcements, pitches, and recruitment.

It’s also worth saying: Bristol is a serious centre for factual and natural history production, and the acquisition messaging leans into building a “regional post production network” that reflects where programmes are made.

A quick note on my approach (for similar shoots)

My approach is simple: calm direction, efficient coverage, and images that are polished without feeling overworked. For corporate headshots and PR photography in Bristol (and Bath), I focus on clean lighting, natural skin tones, and an editorial feel; for interiors and workplaces, I prioritise straight lines, accurate colour, and a sense of atmosphere that still reads well on web and in print.

If you’re a Bristol-based business (or a team with a Bristol office) and you need corporate headshots, commercial interiors, or PR imagery for a launch, acquisition, rebrand or press release, I’m happy to help — especially if you want something that looks premium but still feels like you.
